Simchat Torah is in just a few minutes here in Israel, but I just saw this and wanted to share it with you. I don’t have time to do a full translation, but this is Rachel Friker, a resident of Kibbutz Be’eri. She says people call her the “gabbait” of the synagogue of the kibbutz, even though according to her she has no idea what a gabbait does. :)
Since the earliest days of the war, Rachel has been a symbol of hope, holding onto hope, and allowing others to do so as well.
Here she stands before the open Aron HaKodesh, in front of the Torah scrolls, and tells all of us that this Simchat Torah in Kibbutz Be’eri they will be joyous and dance, and we must as well.
I bless all of us with a deep, meaningful, and joyous holiday.
Amen!
